Trip to Rome 2019

March 31 - April 6, 2019: The Faculty of Canon Law visits Rome.

This trip is considered to be part of our academic programme. Therefore, we would like to establish contacts with the several faculties of canon law and above all with some highly places key figures of the Vatican administration.

In Vatican City and Rome, we visited several institutions that are important to the administration of justice in the Church. This gave us an insight into the workings of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, the Secretariat of State, the Congregation for Catholic Education, the Pontifical Council for the Interpretation of Legislative Texts, the Apostolic Signature and the Roman Rota. We even had the opportunity to speak briefly with the Pope himself!

Furthermore, we were received by the Belgian ambassadors to Italy and the Holy See and we visited some universities where we met fellow students and professors of Canon Law.

We are very proud of this initiative and intend to continue to organize this trip regularly in the future. After all, these experiences are invaluable for the formation of future generations of canonists.
